28th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival
Vaivén (nape of the nape)
synopsis
A peaceful reflection on arrival and departure made up of fragments from the everyday life of a train-obsessed boy living in the Cuban countryside. Every day, the protagonist walks to the station to watch the trains come and go. The naturalist sound and image of the film faithfully intimate the sensory impressions and temporal nature of a train station.
„They [trains] bring me comfort and sense of connection to the wider world, to travelers and seekers.“ (Nisha Platzer)
