Echoes of Ji.hlava IDFF in Warsaw

The 18th International Film Festival Watch Docs in Warsaw will between December 8th and 12th showcase a selection from the Ji.hlava IDFF´s Czech Joy competition section.

Czech Gaze: Echoes of Ji.hlava at Watch Docs will present five films that have strongly resonated with Ji.hlava’s audience in the past three years. The presented film titles look behind the scenes of the 2018 presidential campaign, explore the rise of intolerance towards Islam in the Czech society, the working conditions of the worst paid jobs and the life in the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station, which now serves as a refuge to immigrants and other marginalized groups. The audience will also be offered an insight into the world of autism, which redefines the seemingly firm boundaries between “otherness” and normality.
