synopsis
Meandering shadows of the city’s scenery presented as an urban model, covering selected areas on close and remote composition planes. Objects are never fully revealed. The selective nature of perception constantly comes to the fore thanks to the film’s soundtrack, which switches between quasi-authentic echoes of the observed environment and opera music.DETAIL:
A passing car and opening windows are noticeable occurrences that attest to the vitality of the film’s images, illuminated by reflectors from the front.
biography
Art group Flatform (founded in 2006) based in Milan and Berlin produces experimental films and multi-channel video installations that explore the illusory nature of representation and narration. Their work has been showcased at numerous festivals such as the Venice and Rotterdam Film Festivals and exhibited in prestigious galleries. Their Trento Symphonia (2014), Movements of Impossible Time (2011) and Domenica, Sunday, 6th April 11:42am (2008) were presented at Jihlava IDFF.more about film
