synopsis

In her audio-visual essay, the author looks back on her childhood, exploring how memories affect her present experience. The original 8 mm footage transforms into video and its pixels deform memories into stains resembling oil paintings.

biography

Kristin Scheving is a visual artist, curator and project manager originally from Reykjavik. In addition to exhibiting her own videos, illustrations and paintings, Scheving has curated projects and screenings around the world. She also founded the 700IS Reindeerland Experimental Art Festival in Iceland, which focused on experimental video, sound and media art. She holds a M.A. in Media Arts and a B.A. in Visual Arts from Manchester Metropolitan University in England.
