No Place Like Home

synopsis

The fictional television quiz show “Weg van Nederland” presents five immigrants who, after having spent many years in Holland, must leave their friends, partners, studies, and employment because their asylum application has been denied. As children, they had fled from countries ruled by a lack of freedom; now they are going back and can win 4,000 euros or material prizes. The contest criticizes the prejudices and bureaucratic red tape that the Dutch system throws in the immigrants’ way.
