synopsis

The director has for the last 5 years made theatre and performance in total darkness with the aim of triggering the other senses and audience imagination. Phantom Limb his first film in this series, which mostly deals with total darkness. We are following Mads as he enters his first regression therapy session, and gets guided into hypnosis. All recordings are real.

biography

Both educated in film (Høgskolen i Oslo (NO) and KDF (DK) and theatre (Universety of Copenhagen)), Thomas Østgaard began making films in Denmark. From 2009, Thomas Østgaard moved into theatre, and joined the group Artilleriet Productions DA as a writer and director and has been staging contemporary plays on various stages in Norway. In 2013 he founded Dunkel, and have toured with live art in complete darkness. In 2015 he received the honorable directors working grant for two years from the Norwegian Arts Council.
