synopsisThe Czechoslovak-Jewish tragedy in the age of Nazism. From 1938, anti-Semitism grew. Then came blanket bans and segregation before Jews were eventually deported and murdered. These are the compelling firsthand accounts from the last surviving witnesses of the Holocaust, all made for a new cycle of documentaries capturing the problems of former Czechoslovakia.
biographyAdam Drda is a Czech journalist and documentary filmmaker. Since 2005, he has mainly engaged with modern Czechoslovak history and Holocaust themes. He also works as an external editor for Czech Radio and is creatively involved with the docuseries Stories of the 20th Century. He also frequently collaborates with Czech Television as a screenwriter, particularly for the docuseries Unsung Heroes and Stories of the 20th Century. As a filmmaker and editor, he has been involved in projects for the non-profit organization People in Need since 2007.
Viktor Portel directed the film Radok's Trojan War (2013) for Czech Television as well as the film Josef Tošovský: The Pillar of Stability from the Ex-Prime Minister series (2014). He is a co-author of the idea for a common archive of memories of witnesses from the 20th century, which is being created in cooperation with Czech Television and the non-profit organization Post Bellum o.p.s.
