biography
Video artist Adéla Babanová‘s (born 1980) work is often based on real events, which she weaves into a web of reinterpretations with the help of dreamlike, fictional and mystifying narratives. She presents some of her works, such as I Have a Body There (2013), both as multimedia installations and as films. She often collaborates with her brother Džian Baban. MFDF Ji.hlava presented her television documentary Neptune (2018) about the media hoax staged by the Czechoslovak State Security and the mockumentary Return to Adriaport (2013).“I became more and more interested in the contradictions between the private life of artists and their work, I analyzed the relationships within the art world, the desire for power and immortality.” — Adéla Babanová
