Playlab Films is specialized in revealing and producing new directorial talents born through annual workshops with great masters of cinema such as Abbas Kiarostami, Werner Herzog and Apitchatpong Weerasethakul. Through the workshops held annually, new directors are born which PLAYLAB later produces and supports in their first works. It’s first feature, "Baracoa" by Pablo Briones, premiered at Berlinale 2019, won the Silver Biznaga Award at Malaga Film Festival, the Youth Jury Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest, and was selected at Locarno, CPH: DOX, FIDBA and Nashville FF among others.
