After more than a decade of collaborations as a filmmaker and video artist in many interdisciplinary art projects, Rui joined Kintop, a Lisbon-based documentary production company, first as an editor and post-production supervisor and, from 2017 to 2021, as partner and producer. During the last 5 years, he got involved in the development, funding, production and distribution of many creative documentary projects, premiering at Locarno IFF, Berlinale, IDFA, Visions du Réel. He’s currently working as an independent producer at different companies, on a project-by-project basis, focused on international documentary features and series. Rui holds an MA in Technology and Digital Art and is a Lecturer in Film Production and History. Ji.hlava's Emerging Producer 2023.
