NEW CINEMA 2026: Get to Know Your Cinema Operator

The New Cinema project has long been educating and connecting cinema operators and distributors from the Czech Republic and neighboring countries. The 2026 edition also aims to connect cinema operators with producers and other audiovisual professionals for whom cinemas are important spaces for their activities. The seminar “Get to Know Your Cinema Operator” will combine presentations, a moderated discussion, and a round table with participants of the New Cinema 2026 project and other industry stakeholders. It will introduce the basics of cinema operations, from technical specifications and programming to PR, while comparing approaches in cinemas of different sizes and locations. The programme will also present statistics on documentary film attendance in Czech cinemas in 2026 and a case study of the Lev salon project.
