Chasing the Dreams: Jiří Linhart`s lecture (Nikon)
How does a photographer get up close and personal with famous actors, directors and other public figures — and what happens once the doors of the film set close behind them? Over the years, Jiří Linhart has photographed personalities such as Vincent Cassel and Terence Hill, and worked on projects involving filmmakers such as Guy Ritchie. This talk offers a personal look behind the scenes of film production, featuring stories and experiences from the field, as well as insights into how to capture authentic moments in an environment where everything is carefully controlled.
How can a photographer remain an observer and documentarian while creating images with the aesthetic of film or commercial photography? Where does documentary photography end and stylisation begin? And how much does the relationship between the photographer and the person in front of the lens shape the final image?
The talk will also explore how photography and post-production are changing in the age of artificial intelligence - from the current use of AI tools to the question of how the role of the photographer and visual author may evolve in the years to come.
