synopsis
Footage of an ancient, often elemental ritual of the Tibetan community living on the far borders of China – a repeated encounter between people and the gods at harvest time. Into this tradition of sacred fire and ecstatic dancing seep modern signs and symbols such as iPods, fun fair balloons and children's t-shirt with pictures of Mickey Mouse.I pray as I walk when I spin the prayer wheel. Thick, grey smoke rises to the heavens and blood slowly drips down the forehead from the slit skin on the head. Even in traditional clothing, each generation unconsciously reveals its attributes.
