synopsis

The film addresses forms of political art, which inevitably come into conflict with state power, but focuses more on the specific socio-legal consequences of such creative gestures. Members of the Ztohoven art group are preparing for a lawsuit as a result of their performance, when they raised a pair of red boxer shorts in place of the president’s banner at Prague Castle, the seat of the President of the Republic. At the same time, they decide to help the family of Russian activist Oleg Vorotnikov, a member of the dissident group Vojna, who finds himself in much more acute conflict with power. biography

Petra Nesvačilová (1985) is a Czech director and actress. She studied documentary filmmaking at Prague’s FAMU. She has had several significant roles in theater and film. Viewers may know her, for example, from the Czech feature films Pusinky (Dolls) or Lištičky (Little Foxes). In her documentary work, she addresses topics straddling the line between history, politics and social issues. The Ji.hlava festival screened her contribution to the series Ex-Premiers (2014) and her film Helena’s Law (2016).
