synopsis
How can one tell the story of the pioneer of electronic music, who only found satisfaction after her death, with the discovery of 267 tapes? Delia Derbyshire is the creator of the famous theme song for the sci-fi series Doctor Who – and this docudrama sees her, too, as a time traveler. For this innovator, the art of sound was a refuge in which she could explore her creativity, femininity, and modernity. This “outsider” in the post-war era in Great Britain and in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop comes to life through the musician Cosey Fanni Tutti (ex-Throbbing Gristle) and her work with sounds from Delia’s archive.biography
