'Til Madness Do Us Part
Wang Bing / Hong Kong, France, Japan / 2013 / East European Premiere / 228 min.
synopsis
It’s difficult to say how many circles of Hell Dante passed through on his way to Purgatory, but in this film we pass though a lot of them. In a Chinese mental hospital cut off from the outside world, mentally handicapped criminals, political prisoners and the “merely” sick find a common life. Four hours of extreme observation, interspersed with singing.
A reality show from the world of anxieties. An enclosed space, a camera that visits nearly every place, and people who no longer register the presence of recording equipment. The only thing we don’t get is entertainment.
