Dragon Queen
Helene De Cartier / Czech Republic / 2019 / World Premiere / 8 min.
synopsis
In loving memory of Jan Kratochvíl.
“I’m Jan or aka Stacey. What to tell about myself? A crazy kid, an impersonator, a wigmaker, a teacher… Just a freak!” - Jan Kratochvíl -
A documentary portrait about the 29 year old Czech, Drag performer (Stacey Lynn Gold) but also wig-maker, makeup artist and teacher Jan Kratochvíl. Jan openly offers an insight of the sacrifices he had to make and his wish to get rid of Stacey. Jan is determined to end his Drag career and to pursue his true passion!
Not only gives this documentary a taste of a typical Czech suburban Drag show and its audience, but mostly takes a look behind the curtain to see who is hiding behind the extravagant mask.
