Dear People, Dear Citizens
Andrea Culková / Czech Republic / 2026 / World Premiere / 118 min.
synopsis
For five years, Andrea Culková tracked a unique political experiment: around 800 Europeans of different generations – students, workers and senior citizens – selected at random were given the chance to decide on the future of the continent within the European Parliament. The confrontation between determined citizens and cautious political elites lays bare the mechanisms of a system that may itself be the cause of many of today’s crises. The author interweaves her analytical observations with performative rituals, black humour and broader reflections on whether we will be able to bring about the necessary changes before the state of democracy and the environment reaches the point of no return.“Let‘s make a Copernican shift from United Nations to united people.”
