synopsis
One of the main social issues of 2013 was the fight against commercial “presentation events” where the organisers prey upon senior citizens. This documentary captures everything that the documentary film Crooks accomplished as well as the related society-wide discussions and media massage. A petition against these “crooks”, which made it all the way to Parliament, was signed by over 180,000 people. All these efforts culminated in a legislative change: on 10 December 2013 the Chamber of Deputies approved an amendment to the consumer protection law: 184 deputies from all seven parties represented in the lower house of Parliament voted in favour of the amendment.
