Presenting 4 DVDs of short Czech films from the 1950s.The National Film Archive presents an exclusive collection of four DVDs containing 42 short films documenting life in Czech society in the 1950s. Eight sections (Industry, Agriculture, Defense, Sports, Health, Nutrition, Lifestyle, and the Arts) reflect work and leisure at the time. The accompanying program for the DVDs’ presentation will screen selected films covering a wide range of subjects such as preparations for the 1948 nationwide Spartakiad sports event and the construction of prefab housing blocks in the late 1950s.
