synopsis
An animated depiction of the half-waking state before we fall asleep. Various people describe how they see the state between waking and sleeping, while the visual show hypnagogic hallucinations – i.e., the vision that accompany the process of falling asleep. Colours are intertwined with shapes to create abstract landscapes from which every now and then concrete objects emerge.
biography
Magdalena Kvasničková (1988) studied in the Film and Television Graphic Studio at Prague’s Academy of Art, Architecture and Design, and today works as an animator and graphic artist. In her work, such as About Creation (2015), she makes frequent use of a children’s drawing style.
