synopsis
One of today’s most important found-footage filmmakers has created a heavy-metal miniature from Charlie Chaplin’s 1916 film The Floorwalker (1916). The new rhytmic film slapstick makes use of Chaplin’s escalator gag, turning the scene into a rough and grainy close-up that turns the short scene into the characters’ virtuoso struggle with film editing, composed on the basis of a poetic ABABA BCBCB structure.
