biography

Izabela Mahon studied philosophy alongside translation and interpreting at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, until she realised she was only there for her friends, whom she could see outside university anyway. She now studies documentary filmmaking at FAMU, where she feels more in her element. She is getting to grips with the fundamentals of the documentary craft and exploring how to create politically engaged work without slipping into didacticism.
