synopsis
A short experimental film from the early oeuvre of the pioneer of Czech video art, Radek Pilař, combines black-and-white amateur footage of the performance poet Václav Fischer with patterns manually tinted by the author. Abstract shapes playfully interact with movements of the captured characters.
biography
Radek Pilař (1931–1993) was a Czech filmmaker, animator and illustrator. In addition to pioneering in Czech video art alongside Petr Skala, Pilař is well-known for creating many popular Czech children’s characters and illustrations. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.film details
