synopsis
The film captures the dramatic search for the remains of priest Josef Toufar, who was tortured to death by the secret police in the 1950s. Working with archival materials and eyewitness testimony, the filmmakers explore the way in which the communists tried to get rid of the “inconvenient” priest’s body and erase all traces that might make it possible to find his burial site. The Czech Television crew was granted exclusive access to all moments of his body’s inspection and exhumation. We are guided by author Miloš Doležal, who dedicated his entire life to learning the truth about Toufar’s fate.
