Unknown Tale

Germany, Mongolia / 2013 / Czech Premiere / 5 min.

synopsis

In the middle of the Mongolian steppe stands a circular yurt, and before it stand three figures representing childhood, youth and old age, but also morning, noon and evening. The times of the day are compared to the advancing age of humans, emphasizing the cyclical nature of time. The film creates associations between symbolic images and human puzzles, acted and documentary scenes, while reffering to Mongolian traditions and legends.

DETAIL:
In the scene, we see a glimmering mirror that the boy uses to reflect rays of sunlight onto the women’s faces; water that the young woman scoops out of the stream; and small treasures that the old woman shows to the boy.
