synopsis
This conceptual work reconstructs the memories of a hotel room in the so-called red-light district in the city of Makati in the Philippines. The objects which dominate the author's perspective are pillows and blankets. However, extreme close-ups reveal other objects in the room and what is behind them.
biography
Jan Philippe "JP" V. Carpio is a multi-talented artist, writer, filmmaker and performer who lives and works in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. He directed several short films and three feature-length films, Girl of My Dreams (2000), Balay Dakû (2002) and Hilo (2007). He currently teaches film and mass communication at the St. Paul University in Manila.more about film
