synopsis
A family is departing. Footage of a married couple relocating to Germany in the 1970s is intercut with the voiceover of their daughter, who decided to live in the Czech Republic. Diary entries and footage of the parents as a witness to people’s departures from Turkey, a country to which they are constantly trying to define their relationship.
biography
Âkile Nazlı Kaya (1980) earned a bachelor’s degree in Ankara, studied animation in Zlín and graduated from the audiovisual studies program at FAMU in Prague. She is the author of several animated and documentary films, which she makes in collaboration with Tomáš Doruška.
