synopsis
A socio-critical reflection based on memories from the end of the war and post-war reconstruction. A meditative commentary on the state and future of the world is accompanied by memories of witnesses of various professions and a collage of archival materials from the theatre, workers’ meetings and celebrations, and scenes from factories, theatres, and childcare institutions.biography
Igor Minaev (1954) graduated from the directing program at the National Institute of Theatre and Film in Kyiv and emigrated to France in the late 1980s. He made a name for himself there with films such as Mars froid (1980) and Rez du chausée (1990), both screened at Cannes. In March 2019, his film The Cacophony of Donbas was released in cinemas.more about film
