River of Days
Mark Street / United States / 2025 / European Premiere / 7 min.
synopsis
On a light table, people, places and things lend one another their contours. Hundreds of backlit photographs, piled atop one another and interspersed with Super 8 abstractions, loosen their moorings in time: the everyday life of places, objects and people, by turns impassive and bizarre, glimmers through flickering lights and reflections. Days settle into a semblance of flow composed of motionless moments.“I’m a street photographer, I film all the time, I’m never quite sure how it’ll end up.” — Mark Street
