synopsis
The documentary
Dreams About Stray Cats tells the life story of fine artist Petr Sís, who is regarded as one of the most important figures in the contemporary international art and cultural scene. He is the author of many children's books, an illustrator, a graphic artist, and the creator of many animated films. Petr has also won dozens of prestigious awards throughout his career. Director David Sís fleshes out the inner world of his older brother, using it as a medium to tell the close relationship he shares with him. The film is composed of original footage shot in New York, Paris, Aubusson, and Lisbon, as well as in Prague and Brno. Footage is strategically spliced with the animations of Sís's works, allowing the viewer to confront the real world through the world of Petr Sís.
