The Vasulkas: Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and others
120 min.
synopsis
The programme presents black-and-white recordings of private and public performances by the best interpreters of African-American culture during the early 1970s, with Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis at the forefront. The recordings have been selected from the private video collection of Steina and Woody Vasulka, who, with their video camera, charted the events of the New York music scene in clubs and studios, at concerts, and in the streets. The rare recordings, originally released under the title Participation, have been newly sorted and digitalised thanks to the efforts of Petr Vrána.contact
