Patricia Pisters is professor of film- and media culture at the department of Media Studies of the University of Amsterdam. Her most recent publications includes New Blood in Contemporary Cinema (2020) on female horror directors. Her new book Cosmic Camera on the psychedelic unconscious in cinema (inspired by the work of Czeck-American psychiatrist Stanislav Grof) will appear early 2027 with Edinburgh University Press.
