Lynne Sachs is a filmmaker and poet from Brooklyn, New York. Over the past four decades, she has created cinematic works that defy genre, blending hybrid forms and cross-disciplinary collaboration to draw on the essay film, documentary, performance, and collage. Across more than 50 feature-length and short films, she explores the intricate relationship between personal observation and broader historical experience. Working from a feminist perspective, she investigates the connections between the body, the camera, and the materiality of film itself.
