synopsis
A visually impressive look at the invasion of the giant hogweed, shot over the course of a year in the marshy landscape near the River Bollin on the outskirts of Manchester. This imposing and high toxic plant is considered a dangerous and unwanted colonizer. In the movie, it spreads to the sound of unsettling electronic beats, making it an allegory for our xenophobia.DETAIL:
The grass is covered in frost; the long stalks of dried umbels reach for the sky. They are enchanting and fascinating. But when the new stem rises from a field of ripening grain, it evokes fear and tension. Man appears, bringing struggle with him.
