Helmed by a collective of producers (Ada Solomon, Carla Fotea, Diana Caravia, Alexandru Solomon), microFILM is a Romanian production company created to develop and produce socially relevant films constantly challenging the cinematic language. Our aim is to nurture fresh talents and help acclaimed directors break new boundaries. We are united by the belief that films should ask questions that are not always comfortable and show perspectives that are not always visible. Recent titles include Mammalia by Sebastian Mihăilescu (Berlinale Forum 2023), Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn by Radu Jude (2021 Berlinale Golden Bear); Ivana the Terrible by Ivana Mladenovic (Special Jury Prize - Locarno 2019); the feature documentary Arsenie. An Amazing Afterlife by Alexandru Solomon (Karlovy Vary 2023).
