synopsis
Renowned French film historian Lubomir Hosejko is the author of the first history of Ukrainian cinematography. (Histoire du cinema ukrainien, 2001) and is a specialist on the work of Eugène Deslaw, about whom he has already published two books and is now preparing an extensive monograph based on primary research, primarily that of Deslaw’s personal archive. In his lecture, he will focus on avant-garde creative approaches, relationships with the Czech film avant-garde (in particular contact with Zet Molasová), and his documentary work, using his most famous documentary film Montparnasse (1929) as an example.
