The slow movement of various species of insect in an abstract, brightly lit setting creates suggestive allusions to incontrollable chaos, apathy, and the decay of social structures. The minimalist visual imagery is accompanied by ambient music that works with realistic sound and static.

FilmCUT present a filmic montage of the story of hair. The filmmaker takes the film’s thesis (that the cutting of hair is an attempt at controlling our image) and reduces it to a depiction of the act of styling hair as a visual symbol, manipulated by film editing techniques.

Dead Reckoning
The vicious circle of modern man. Statistics, psychoanalysis, income, and paranoia as the basic attributes of contemporary society. Four seemingly incongruous video sequences that share an intense experience of emptiness and sterility are accompanied by random contrapuntal commentary. An exceptionally unsettling work of video art on the fruitless search for the meaning of life in consumer society.

Trip to Prague
Collected observations of pedestrians near Prague’s main train station, ordered into groups on the basis of their behaviour or “props”: smokers, mothers with strollers, couples, people with plastic bags. The patient listing and categorization of photographs taken over a longer period of time creates a careful study and an occasionally twisted portrait of one particular place in the middle of the city.

Loathing...
A personal essay inspired by Kurt Vonnegut’s Player Piano (1952). Using machins learning on the level of deep reading, the film processes visual and audio records, distorting them, rearranging them, and subsequently submitting them to an algorithm created in part by artificial intelligence that reconstructs the sequences and arranges them in chronological order.

An Event I.
On one hand, Event I is an audio-visual tool programmed using the Pure Data language, and on the other hand, it’s a live performance during which an attempt will be made to recast noise into a structured form. More than a game, it’s a competition with an instrument that constantly challenges the artist with new impulses and challenges to “tame” it. The instrument is the ma/essage. Not suitable for pregnant women or those with epilepsy.
