During his studies at the FAMU, Július Matula (1943–2016) made his first documentaries I Am a Cursed Photographer (1969) and My Aunt Vincencia (1969). As an assistant director at the Barrandov studios, he worked, for example with Ivan Balaďa on The Ark of Fools (1970); until 1991, Matula made twelve feature films.more about film
