synopsis
A self-referential film that utilizes acceleration, jump cuts, scraping, multiple exposures, and back-lighting of the film medium. The result is a dark work full of flashes surrounding the ecstatic dance of animated and living bodies moving through the landscape like visual vibrations.
biography
Before his emigration in the 1980s, Ioan Pleșh (1958
–2009) made a dozen films under the wing of the kinema ikon collective, characterized by direct interventions in the film medium. As John Plesh, he continued to experiment with film and video and write poetry in the USA.
