synopsis
A closer shot excludes much of the surrounding landscape, focusing attention on the force of the oil well, thick smoke and leaping flames. The film brings viewers close to a site of industrial extraction that they could scarcely reach themselves. Technological progress reveals itself as both fascinating and dangerous.
