Stan Brakhage (1993-2003) was a renowned American avant-gardist of the 1960s whose films are characteristic for his artistic deployment of emulsions, both hand-painted and deformed in various physical and chemical ways. In his “moving visual thoughts,” he focused mainly on the topics of birth, sexuality and corporeality.
