Čtení s autogramiádou: Vrbětice a debata o ruských špionech v Česku
In his book Vrbětice: The Russian Operation That Changed Czechia, investigative journalist Jaroslav Spurný of the weekly magazine Respekt tells the thrilling story of journalists' search for the perpetrators of the explosions at the ammunition depots in Vrbětice. Based on the facts and evidence uncovered, the book links the 2014 attack by Russian intelligence units on Czech territory, which claimed two lives and caused enormous material damage, to the Kremlin's interest in regaining influence in the former satellites of the Soviet Union, including Czechia.
The author describes not only the domestic investigation of the Vrbětice case, but also the related activities of the GRU, the Russian military intelligence service, from the time of the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia to the present. He explains how Russia is organizing its fifth column in Czechia and other European countries and the sabotage, cyber, disinformation, economic, and subversive operations of its secret services, which are intended to support the Kremlin's imperial interests.
