synopsis
An original video diary documenting the director's efforts to have artificial insemination. Cuthand describes his desire to have children of his own and the difficult journey he must take to have them, a journey that is also closely tied to his membership in Canada's First Nations and thus to the question of preserving his indigenous culture.“Grieving people who never were is harder than it seems.” (TJ Cuthand)

biography
TJ Cuthand (* 1978) is a Canadian transgender filmmaker who has been making short videos and experimental films since the age of 16. He addresses topics such as sexuality, queer identity, and Indigenous culture; Cuthand is of First Nation descent. He is also a performer and in 2020, he created a 2D video game about his experiences with bipolar disorder. He is credited with coining the term Indigiqueer.more about film
