New York State of Mind
director: Mike Hoolboom
original title: New York State of Mind
running time: 13 min.
synopsisIn his essay on fossil capitalism and the high price of cheap energy, Mike Hoolboom revives New York from the beginning of the last century. The restored footage of busy urban traffic is accompanied by his divergent reflection on cities built primarily for cars, not people. Especially the less privileged.
