synopsis

Why do we have hairs, what is their purpose, what are they made of, and when did we stop loving them? The hybrid audiovisual essay with performative moments gives us various perspectives of the hair. Instructional video elements based on facts and macroscopic details are interspersed with staged and highly stylized scenes.

biography

Josefína Lubojacki (1986) graduated from FAMU in the fields of scriptwriting and dramaturgy and continues in her studies of documentary film making. Her works focus on gender equality, gender binarity and the beauty construct.

Canis lupus, or the grey wolf, may be altered into the family dog by adding the attribute familiaris to its generic name. This experimental film brings out parallels between the aggressive nature of the wild beast and humans with the author eliminating soundtrack, building up his reflections using 3D animations combined with a written monologue told by invisible narrator.

Luchino Visconti), in which the condemned debates with a priest about the absurdity of life, death, and the non-existence of God. The audiovisual essay explores the Danish part of Jutland from the view of both a living eye and an inanimate object. The horizontal line of the water surface represents a penetrable borderline between the world of people and the world of nature, bubbling with rippling reflections of the outer realities while accompanied with wind, voice and silence blasts.

An animated depiction of the half-waking state before we fall asleep. Various people describe how they see the state between waking and sleeping, while the visual show hypnagogic hallucinations – i.e., the vision that accompany the process of falling asleep. Colours are intertwined with shapes to create abstract landscapes from which every now and then concrete objects emerge.
