synopsis

We are entering a paradise of digital pleasures. The deep dreaming of artificial intelligence, in harmony with analogue video synthesizers and signal mixing, creates window blinds, hazes, and fractal structures that vibrate the image of the water surface and consciousness itself. Video signals intertwine with sound impulses – similar to how Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights intertwines human, plant, and fantastical elements into a pulsating whole.

biography

Billy Roisz (b. 1967) is one of the leading figures of the Viennese experimental audiovisual scene. She works with electromagnetic signals, feedback, video synthesizers, DIY devices, and a combination of live bass guitar playing and video mixing. The results are short films, single-screen projections, interactive installations, and live performances. In 2021, she received the Austrian Art Prize in the category of film art. Ji.hlava IDFF screened her films do they speak color? (2022), Who's Afraid of RGB (2019), and darkroom (2014).
