Eva Gabrižová is one of FAMU’s emerging cinematography talents. She first studied at the Centre for Audiovisual Studies, where she made experimental auteur films. She is now continuing her studies at the Department of Cinematography, developing her visual approach in both fiction and documentary work, including shooting on film. She is fascinated by the possibilities of formal experimentation, yet also drawn to classical forms of cinematic storytelling, in which she sees room to push boundaries further. Her most notable work to date is the cinematography for the short film Volklore, which won a Silver Medal at the Student Academy Awards. The film reflects her openness to playfulness and to experimenting with the language of cinematography.
