Tomáš Hirt is engaged in visual anthropology and film theory. He works at the Department of Documentary Film at FAMU and at the Department of Anthropology at the Faculty of Arts, University of West Bohemia. He teaches university courses and seminars focused on the foundations of the humanities, theory of culture, ethnographic research and theory of documentary film. He provides theoretical and methodological consultations to students at art-oriented universities in their research activities and in the creation of their (primarily film) authorial works. He is the author and co-author of a number of scholarly studies and methodologies, several short documentary/ethnographic films, exhibitions and e-learning applications.
