synopsis
Searching for Balance is an experimental silent video art project. Skala uses silhouettes of a woman's torso to frame the rapidly changing coloured filling along with altering the speed of footage to achieve his signature style.
biography
Petr Skala is a Czech filmmaker and artist. Along with Radek Pilař, Skala is known as one of the founders of Czech video art. He has directed nearly 150 documentaries, with his work included in the 50 most important video art projects worldwide at the 1993 Deutscher Videokunstpreis in Karlsruhe. He graduated from FAMU in Prague.
